Commercial music streaming giant Spotify, has identified their most streamed artists of 2013. The results are calculated based on 24 million global users who streamed 4.5 billion hours of music during 2013. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are the most popular artists streamed worldwide, also marking “The Heist” (their debut studio album) the world’s most streamed album. “Can’t Hold Us” and “Thrift Shop” raked in the most streams for the duo this year. The tracks serve as the first and third most streamed tracks globally. Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” sits in second place on the same list.

In the U.S., Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ hit singles also occupies second and third place behind Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive.” The Las Vegas-based band’s “Night Visions” album also took first place as the most streamed album in the U.S., followed by the “The Heist.”

Drake, Jay-Z and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis takes first, second and third place respectively as the most streamed artists in the U.S. Rihanna retains her place at the top as the most streamed female artists in the world.  New Zealand singer Lorde takes the crown for the most viral new artist of 2013.
