Official release date has been confirmed for December 18, 2015

This also marks the first feature film production under the Mouse House’s ownership of George Lucas’ production company. It was also recently announced that Lawrence Kasdan (“The Empire Strikes Back”, “Return of the Jedi”) and Abrams will take over the writing duties from “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” scribe Michael Arndt, he was hired in 2012 to work on the script for the new “Star Wars”.

Abrams says he would love to work with Arndt again:

“That doesn’t preclude working with Michael again in the future,”

“Working with Michael was a wonderful experience and I couldn’t be a bigger fan of his or adore him more, He’s a wonderful guy and was incredibly helpful in the process.”

We still have no confirmation or additional rumors indicating that any actors involved in the project have been announced. Sit tight, GeekShizzle will keep you posted.
