The music video for Price’s new single “Breakfast Can Wait” has just arrived. As cited by Thegrio.com, the Grammy Award-winning artist posted amusing artwork for the single on his 3rd Eye Girl Twitter account last August. The picture features comedian Dave Chappelle as Prince, holding a plateful of pancakes, sporting a jerry curl wig and purple suit.

Prince and Dave Chappelle fans will be disappointed with the video if they expected either of them to appear in the new clip. Director of the music video, Danielle Curiel is featured instead, impersonating the 55-year-old music sensation. She is dressed in Prince’s “Purple Rain” costume complete with a wig and drew-on mustache. Curiel is definitely easier on the eyes!

The music video kicks off with a girl (Curiel) preparing breakfast while a young guy enters the kitchen. Instead of enjoying the cooked meal, the couple ends up flirting and engage in a mini food fight. Eventually they end up in a showdown with dancers on both ends to round off the “battle”.
Prince’s forthcoming new studio album is tentatively titled as “Plectrum Electrum”.
