Aaron Eckhart displays his fury in the first trailer for “I, Frankenstein”. The modern update of Mary Shelley’s classic novel based on the comic books by Kevin Grevioux takes place in the prophetically-named city of Darkhaven, 200 years after Frankenstein was created by Dr. Frankenstein. The undead monster faces a war between two immortal clans, a secret ecosystem of ghouls and monsters that prey on the largely unsuspecting human population.

Aaron Eckhart shared some details about his character in an interview with IGN:

“It’s a movie about good and evil, about gargoyles and demons, and it’s about a monster trying to find his soul; his place in this world. And he happens to be an expert at the Filipino art of Kali stick fighting at the same time. Which [for those who are unfamiliar] is done with two and a half foot ratan sticks, or any stick you pick up off the street, and it’s being able to dispatch soulless people with these sticks.”

“I, Frankenstein” is directed by Patrick Tatopoulos based on a script by Kevin Grevioux (“Collateral” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”). The film is also supported by Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy and Miranda Otto. The action/thriller  is due January 24, 2014.
