Aaron Paul is starring in the action-packed movie “Need for Speed” which launched its first teaser trailer this week. “Breaking Bad” is approaching its finale and it’s good to see Paul (best known for his role as Jesse on the AMC hit series) saddling up for a big blockbuster movie. The explosive teaser features lots of car racing scenes as expected, in a setting very similar to the “Fast and Furious” franchise.

Paul is portraying a convict, street racer Tobey Marshall, after being released from prison for a crime that he didn’t commit. He is dead set on revenge on the person who framed him. The film is an adaptation of the popular series of video games by Electronic Arts which promises to be a surprise hit.

Paul told Entertainment Weekly that “Need for Speed” shouldn’t be mistaken for a “Fast and Furious” knockoff explaining:

“It’s really a throwback to the Steve McQueen era of car movies. I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised,”

Scott Waugh (“Act of Valor”) is at helm of the project and will be released by DreamWorks on April 14, 2014. Paul will be supported by Imogen Poots, Dominic Cooper, Ramon Rodriguez, Michael Keaton and Dakota Johnson.
