Will we see zombies in space with Focus Features’ “Last Days on Mars”? In the first official trailer of the anticipated sci-fi thriller, crew members of the first manned mission to Mars goes horribly wrong as they fight to survive after they discover something that places their lives in danger.

The last day of their mission on Mars they discover fossilized evidence of bacterial life. A crew member of Tantalus Base went on an unauthorized expedition to collect further samples. Unfortunately for the crew, the excitement of their ground breaking discovery is short lived, as all hell breaks loose when a routine excavation turns to disaster.

Soon after, the crew members get infected with the bacteria, setting the stage for a very suspenseful game of survival. The film is directed by Irish filmmaker Ruairi Robinson (better know for his short film career), staring Liev Schreiber, Olivia Williams, Elias Koteas, Johnny Harris, Goran Kostic and Tom Cullen.
“Last Days on Mars” is set to be released on December 6.
