We’ve just seen the first trailer for the Robocop reboot, and we approve. We pegged this reboot as one to look forward to way back in April.

RoboCop tells the story of Alex Murphy (RoboCop), a cybernetic policeman created as an experiment by the multinational conglomerate OmniCorp. Part-man, part-robot Robocop fights crime and the occasional corporate conspiracy in the near-future of old Detroit.

The screenplay is done by Joshua Zetumer, Nick Shenk, James Vanderbilt and David Self. The cast is pretty impressive as well, Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, and Samuel L. Jackson.

This was one of the first images released to show what the new Robocop will look like:

The original Robocop (1987) was rated 18. It will be interesting to see how the reboot measures up to the original. Talking about the original, who can ever forget the ‘acid-guy’:

One important question we had was where does Robocop put his gun? The original Robocop’s gun opened out of his leg in a hidden type of compartment. We’ve taken the following screenshots that will give you the answers and get you excited for this action packed reboot:
