“Days of Future Past” will be based on X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s run. The story introduced the idea of an alternate future for the Marvel mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.
The promotional website for the film posted the first image of the Sentinels on set. The images are from the first 70’s version of a Sentinel, Mark I model. Fans can also have a peek at the “Game of Thrones” actor Dinklage as Trask, working at Trask Industries. The timeline for Trask Industries, tracks the Sentinel program from the 70’s till the introduction of the new Sentinels (Mark X) program in 2020.
The latest “X-Men” is set to be released on May 23, 2014.
