It sure has been an interesting year in the line of bands releasing new albums. With Paramore, Drowning Pool, Killswitch Engage and Bullet for My valentine  releasing new albums we would have thought we’ve been spoilt enough. But the best is yet to come…

Here are 5 albums we really look forward to:

Goo Goo Dolls – Magnetic [11 June 2013]

Goo Goo Dolls MAgnetic

To me Goo Goo Dolls is a band that had one great album in 1997. Since then they’ve been peddling water and releasing the one average album after the other. Honestly, if you ask anyone to name a few of their hit songs, I garuantee you it will be from their triple-platinum album Dizzy Up the Girl, and will probably be “Slide”, “Black Balloon”, “Broadway”, or “Dizzy”. Magnetic is their tenth studio album. It is scheduled for release on June 11, 2013. The first single “Rebel Beat” was released early January:

Track listing

No. Title Length
1. “Rebel Beat” 3:34
2. “When the World Breaks Your Heart”
3. “Slow It Down”
4. “Caught in the Storm”
5. “Bringing on the Light”
6. “Come to Me”
7. “More of You”
8. “Bulletproofangel”
9. “Last Hot Night”
10. “Happiest of Days”
11. “Keep the Car Running”

I really like the first single, ok it borders the radio-friendly-poppish-corny-lyrics type of music, but it seems like they are on the right track at least. Holding thumbs that this album will be epic!

Black Sabbath – 13 [10 June 2013]

We’ve been waiting for this album for quite some time now. Black Sabbath, arguably THE band that found Metal, is releasing their first album since 1995 called 13 in June this year.

They released the first single called “God is dead?”. Now that’s one way to make a “come back” and get the attention you need… make a controversial statement in your first single released after 15 years!

Queens of the Stone Age – …Like Clockwork [4 June 2013]

Queens of the Stone Age - Like Clockwork

The forthcoming sixth studio album by American rock band Queens of the Stone Age, due for release on June 4, 2013. the most fascinating part of this album is the number of contributions there will be with other musicians. They include Trent Reznor, Jake Shears, Alex Turner, James Lavelle, Brody Dalle, and Sir Elton John. Elton John?

This can either be bloody awesome or an epic failure. We look forward to it.

Jimmy Eat World – Damage [11 June 2013]

Jimmy Eat World - Damage

Their first album in 3 years, I’ve not been an avid follower of Jimmy Eat World, but I really looked forward to this album… that is until they released the first single. If that is any indication, then this album will be an utter fail. The weak track, “I will steal you back” below:

Daft Punk – Random Access Memories [17 May 2013]

Daft Punk Random Access Memories

Seeing as the electronic duo as not really released anything proper since 2005, we are REALLY looking forward to this album. Yes they where involved with the score soundtrack for TRON: LEGACY, but that’s not what we want. We want a full album. Here’s the Tracklist:

1. “Give Life Back to Music” (featuring Nile Rodgers)
2. “The Game of Love”
3. “Giorgio by Moroder” (featuring Giorgio Moroder)
4. “Within” (featuring Chilly Gonzales)
5. “Instant Crush” (featuring Julian Casablancas)
6. “Lose Yourself to Dance” (featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers)
7. “Touch” (featuring Paul Williams)
8. “Get Lucky” (featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers)
9. “Beyond”
10. “Motherboard”
11. “Fragments of Time” (featuring Todd Edwards)
12. “Doin’ It Right” (featuring Panda Bear)
13. “Contact” (featuring DJ Falcon)

There’s some awesome times ahead, which forthcoming albums did we miss?
