Movie props are very important to some people, and while the amount of money people pay for these props make no sense, as a fan I can definitely understand the obsession. A movie prop is something real, something tangible that you can hold that reminds you of your favourite movie, character or role.
Functional or not, movie props can trigger a greater sense of awe and wonder. Every time I see a DeLorean, even stock ones that haven’t been modded with Back to the Future paraphernalia, the kid in me goes a bit giddy. This is why people are willing to dig deep to own a piece of movie magic.
