Marvel has launched the first official trailer for their next big movie “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The film is set in a “post-Avengers” world with Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff (a.k.a. Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson) teaming up to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C. It seems our favorite Captain, played by Chris Evans, is still struggling to adapt to the modern world. Captain America is trying to defend the nation’s capital alongside Romanoff, as shown in the trailer the captain is out to “neutralize a lot of threats before they even happen,” according to Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Nick Fury, the head director of international intelligence agency S.H.I.E.L.D.
The clip also features Falcon, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, who jumps in to fend off the villains. The movie is villainized by a brainwashed assassin (and Captain America’s former best friend) portrayed by Sebastian Stan, who was brought back from the dead as the main baddie. We can also expect to see Robert Redford as he makes his debut in the film franchise as the new S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Alexander Pierce.
The film is set hit theaters on April 4, 2014.
