We finally get to see some photos of the ECTO-1 that will be featured in the upcoming all female Ghostbusters reboot. The pics reveal the front-right side and rear of the ghost chasing speedster that draws inspiration from the vehicle from the classic movies released in the 80’s. We love the classic look and appreciate director Paul Feig’s approach to keep things vintage and original. It is fully stocked with a siren, stair on the right side, and vinyls, just like the original. Rebooting classic movies is a bad idea most of the time and we are very sceptical about this one to be honest. Feig is a decent director and hiring an all-female cast is the sort of out the box thinking that just might work.
Feig shared the pics via his twitter account:
The all-female reboot follows Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) who writes a book about ghost existence among human. No one pays any attention to her, however, until a few years later when Gilbert lands a faculty position at Columbia University. She reunites with Abby Bergman (Melissa McCarthy) and two other wranglers (Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon) and gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan as the team has to save the world. Wiig, McCarthy, Jones and Mckinnon will be joined by Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh and Neil Casey. Expect the reboot to hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
