Legendary horror mastermind Stephen King shared his thoughts regarding Guillermo del Toro’s latest scary movie. Del Toro’s “Crimson Peak” is one of the most talked about horror/thriller projects in years, and for all those horror geeks out there it is looking extremely promising so far. King compares the movie to Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead”, and his son Joe Hill who is also an accomplished writer, also dished out positive comments. The last time we checked in, TheFran mentioned that he is a bit nervous based on the fact that most period horror thrillers easily become a period drama, but all those fears are set to rest!

S.King tweeted:
“Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro’s new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Gorgeous and just f#@king terrifying,” “CRIMSON PEAK electrified me in the same way Sam Rami’s EVIL DEAD electrified me when I saw it for the first time way back in the day.”
Hill wrote:
“Remember that list I tweeted the other day, the 13 most beautiful horror films. CRIMSON PEAK is the most beautiful of all,” “CRIMSON PEAK is Del Toro’s blood-soaked AGE OF INNOCENCE, a gloriously sick waltz through Daphne Du Maurier territory.”
We already marked our calendars for the release date set for October 16. Besides the fact that one of our favourite directors are helming, the film also features a star-studded cast which includes the like of Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, and Charlie Hunnam. Taking place in the 19th century England, it follows an aspiring author who discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be.
