The friendly folks over at TVline claim they have the latest scoop which reveals the “The Walking Dead” spin-off main characters. We reported earlier this month that AMC is acting on their intentions to introduce a spin-off series for the “The Walking Dead”. Details for the companion series are still under wraps, but we had an idea that the series is expected to tell the stories of survival, death and triumph in other regions of the zombie breakout. Michael Ausiello from TVLine was kind enough to share the “fresh intel” for the hotly anticipated spin-off show.
Let’s have a look at the character descriptions:
SEAN CABRERA | A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.
CODY CABRERA | Sean’s whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town.
NANCY TOMPKINS | A thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there’s an edge to her.
NICK TOMPKINS | Nancy’s screwed up teenage son. He’s too old to stay home, too scared to flee.
ASHLEY TOMPKINS | Nancy’s mostly level-headed teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother’s failures. She loves her mom but it’s time to get out of Dodge.
ANDREA CHAPMAN | A somewhat wilted flower child, fortysomething Andrea — yep, another Andrea! — has retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage.
It is interesting that the producers chose to feature a character named Andrea Chapman. The controversial character from the main series was loved, or extremely hated by diehard fans of the show. Nothing has been confirmed, but we have seen similar “character revealing” articles from TVLine in the past with pinpoint accuracy.
AMC’s new show is set in the same post-apocalyptic world that will be less reliant on “The Walking Dead” comics for its inspiration. “The Walking Dead” comics series co-creator and writer Robert Kirkman, is part of the group developing the spin-off. He will serve as executive producer on the project alongside Walking Dead execs Gail Anne Hurd and David Alpert. Meanwhile, The “Walking Dead” will return for season 5 on October 12 at 9/8c on AMC.
