Aquaman has never received a lot of love from fans. Considered as one of the less favourite superheroes that exist. Yet, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder came to the king of Atlantis’ defense this weekend. Snyder phoned in and asked to talk to the team of CBS Detroit after they started making fun of the Justice Leaguer rumored to have a cameo in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, that film’s director.
“You guys were disparaging, a little bit, Aquaman,” Snyder said. “…I don’t want to give anything away about the movie or anything like that, but Aquaman has some cool abilities. People are like, ‘Oh what? Does he talk to animals? Because that seems like what he does. Or fish?’ The cool thing with Aquaman is he has his trident. You have to realize that could cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact. That’s a thing that’s in the canon. He’s super strong because, of course, he can exist at these super deep depths. So when he comes up here, he’s crazy strong. Anyway, not to say he’s in my movie or anything like that, but he has the potential to be bad ass, that’s all I’m saying.”
You can listen to the full interview right here where Zack Snyder defends aquaman. This is a clear indication to us that Aquaman will definitely be in the future of DC cinematic universe, whether it’s in Justice League, or a stand-alone movie. Although it has not been confirmed, rumors have heavily suggested that not only will Aquaman make an appearance in the 2016 release, but that he will be played by “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa.
Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Scoot McNairy, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
