It seems that the 71-year-old Hollywood legend Harrison Ford will not be swinging his whip and raiding tombs anytime soon according to a latest report. Ford revealed in an interview late last year that it’s ok “to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much ass.” According to Latino Review, a new Indiana Jones might be in the works with Bradley Cooper replacing Ford as the titular character. It all seems to hang in the balance of the “Indiana Jones V” production and when it’s expected to be released. The site says that “the studios are 100% prepared to recast a younger Dr. Jones and ready up a new trilogy”. Furthermore, the site mentions that Steven Spielberg and George Lucas have always planned to follow the James Bond movie franchise route by introducing a new face for an existing character.
Frank Darabont (“The Walking Dead”, “The Shawshank Redemption”) pitched an idea for the next installment, but he has not been officially confirmed as the scribe. Cooper proved that he has acting chops to pull of any character based on his recent collaborations with helmer David O. Russell. Not that Indy would require a great deal of amazing acting, I’m just not sure if Cooper is a perfect fit
