The latest rumor to hit “The Fantastic Four” reboot suggest that “1600 Penn” star Josh Gad is in the crosshairs to play Ben Grimm (The Thing). Rumors about Gad’s involvement comes on the heels of the announcement that Fox is expected to start testing for Reed Richards (aka Mister Fantastic) and Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman) later this month.

Gad is a difficult call to make, especially if he will be required to take on the role as Thing. I might be wrong on this one, but it’s difficult to see Gad as the tough, streetwise, high school linebacker type. That pretty much sums it up for me, Gad doesn’t fit the description…at all.
The Josh Trank directed ‘Fantastic Four’ flick is set to be released on June 19, 2015.
