We have the second trailer for Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead. The first trailer dropped online just before new year on 31 December 2013. Tommy Wirkola is back at it with the sequel to the original Dead Snow that picks up where the previous movie left of.
The Nazi zombies are back, and they want something that was taken from them. Dead Snow 2 premièred at this year Sundance Film Festival, and there’s been mixed reviews. The negative reviews are largely due to the fact that the zombies are not entirely zombies. Based on the trailer below we agree. There’s a leader, which implies that the soldier zombies have enough brain power to take orders. This essentially makes this a group of Nazi dressed killers with decomposed faces on a killing spree, that can think and pick up weapons.
Here’s the synopsis:
If the worst day of your life consisted of accidentally killing your girlfriend with an axe, chain-sawing your own arm off, and watching in horror as your closest friends were devoured by a zombified Nazi battalion, you’d have to assume that things couldn’t get much worse. In Martin’s case, that was only the beginning.
Picking up immediately where the original left off, Dead Snow; Red vs. Dead wastes no time getting right to the gore-filled action, leaving a bloody trail of intestines in its wake. Director Tommy Wirkola returns to the helm with a vengeance, coming up with more inventive ways to maim and dismember than you ever thought possible. Combining wry humor with horrific worst-case scenarios, this follow-up to the 2009 Park City at Midnight classic is sure to shock the weak-of-heart and delight even the most hard-core fans of the horror genre. Colonel Herzog is back, and he is not to be f__ked with.
Dead Snow 2 – Second Trailer and First Reviews are in:
Seeing zombies getting killed will always be cool. Seeing Nazi Zombies getting killed is even cooler and that is why we loved the first Dead Snow. Why the negative reviews then? There’s a thin line between the viewer experiencing this coolness or not. Show me how the zombies are killed to express the gory coolness, this is the case with Dead Snow 2. The actors expressed joy in killing the “undead” because they too know it is cool. This happens up to a point where they shout out the good ol’ “F*ck Yeah”.
Still the trailer looks pretty awesome, whether they’re real zombies or not! We’ll wait until we’ve seen Dead Snow 2 ourselves before we give an official review. In the meantime you can catch up on all the Sundance Film Festival news here.
