Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Michael Douglas has officially joined the “Ant-Man” cast as Hank Pym! Last week we mentioned that there is a strong possibility that Scott Lang will be introduced as Ant-Man and that Hank Pym will also feature. Douglas will take on the role as the creator of the chemical allowing Ant-Man to shrink his size, and Paul Rudd will portray the “badass secret agent” Scott Lang, responsible for taking over Ant-Man’s identity. How Edgar Wright and scribe Joe Cornish will handle the story with two superheroes in the same title has not been revealed.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said in a statement (via Variety.com):
“With Hank Pym’s rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves,”
“We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn’t be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life.”
“Ant-Man” is set to be released on July 31, 2015. “Ant-Man” is also one of the most anticipated movies to be released in 2015.
