Javier Bardem is reportedly offered the role to play Captain Blackbeard in the upcoming Peter Pan origin film. Deadline.com reports that the “Hanna” director Joe Wright is in talks to serve behind the lens, with Jason Fuchs (“Ice Age: Continental Drift”) attached to the Warner Bros. project to pen the script. The story follows an orphan kid taken to Neverland where he will lead the Lost Boys to fight evil pirates.

The project known as “Pan”, takes place before the events of Barrie’s original stage play, which is probably the best-known version of the story. The “James Bond” star is a mesmerizing and talented actor, his portrayal as the stone cold killer Anton Chigurh in “No Country for Old Men” will forever be one of his most defining roles. It will be a fun watch to see Bardem taking on a role as Captain Blackbeard. Bardem can be seen next in “The Gunman” with Sean Penn and Idris Elba.
