“Fast and Furious” director Justin Lin is tapped to helm the sequel to “The Bourne Legacy” according to a recent report by Screencrush.com. Jeremy Renner’s Aaron Cross will be back in the fifth installment of the spy action thriller series as the successor of Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne.

Lin is a great addition to helm one of the most lucrative flagship franchises for Universal. He certainly proved he has the chops to revive iconic franchises by taking on the “Fast & Furious” project, the last three installments have grossed $1 billion collectively.
“Sherlock Holmes” scribe Anthony Peckham will pen the script for the “untitled new Bourne movie”, scheduled to be released in 2015.
