The “RoboCop” remake is heating up with a brand new trailer. OmniCorp supporter Pat Novak portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, addresses a group of people about the future of law enforcement. He talks about the trend of using androids and how the rest of the world has embraced this approach hoping that America will follow suit.
He says:
“What if I told you that even the worst neighborhood in America could be made completely safe? How do I know this? Because it’s happening right now in every country in the world, but this one,” “So then tell me. Why can’t we use these machines here at home? Why is America so robo-phobic?”
We also get to see the resurrection of Alex Murphy portrayed by Joel Kinnaman. The company places Murphy inside a machine to transform him into the ultimate robot Frankenstein. They attempt to create “a product with a conscience. Something that knows what it feels like to be human.”
The futuristic action movie is helmed by Jose Padilha. The all-star cast includes Gary Oldman who takes the lead as OmniCorp’s scientist, Michael Keaton takes the seat as the company’s CEO, and Abbie Cornish as Alex’s wife. “Robocop” is scheduled to be released on February 12, 2014.
