NBC has released an animated original series which serves as a prequel to the new show titled “Dracula Rising” according the a recent report by Digitaljournal.com. This is a very clever market ploy to assist with the build up for the much anticipated vampire series. The prequel series has debuted on the network’s official site and YouTube page, which explores the origins of the 15th century Vlad Tepes a.k.a. Dracula.
Dracula will be portayed by Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (the tudors). The series takes viewers back to the Victorian era in London, where Alexander Grayson a.k.a. Dracula poses as an American entrepreneur while trying to bring down a shadowy organization called the Order of the Dragon. Everything seems to be going according to plan until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife. The series reunites Meyers and “The Tudors” director, Steve Shill.
The series is scheduled to debut Friday, October 25.
