We’ve been following the role of Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage on the set of the latest X-Men movie, Days of Future Past. Lot’s of speculation and rumour surrounded his role in the movie. All rumours regarding the/one of the Villain(s) were laid to rest when Bryan Singer tweeted this photo:
“X-Men: Days of Future Past” Update: Peter Dinklage is officially on board to portray Bolivar Trask and More!
Actually this is nothing new, we knew Sentinels were going to feature in the movie, which makes it only obvious that Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels plays a role in the movie. Bolivar Trask is indeed the person responsible for the creation of the sentinels. Let’s take a look at who exactly Bolivar Trask is, and what we can expect from his role in the Movie:
X-Men:Days of Future Past Villain Revealed, Who is Bolivar Trask?
Bolivar Trask was an anthropologist who saw the rise of mutants as a threat to humanity. Bolivar was also the father of Larry Trask, who ironically is revealed to be a mutant precognitive. Bolivar had realized this, and gave his son a medallion which suppresses his power.Bolivar’s other child, Tanya, was also a mutant and her ability to travel through time causes her to vanish. Bolivar decides that humanity has to fight back against the mutants and develops robotic guardians for humanity, known as the Sentinels. To stop the Sentinels, Professor Xavier summons his X-Men. The X-Men fight the Sentinels.
No doubt that Peter Dinklage will bring his majestic reservoir of acting talent to the fold and give us a true villain. Now that we know who one of the if not the primary Villain is, does it mean Dinklage will play Trask? Once again, lots of assumptions are being made. His role being revealed further confirms the plot for Days of Future Past; Sentinels.
Prepare yourself for some kick-ass fighting scenes with Sentinel metal and heads flying around, metal being torn to pieces. Hopefully Wolverine will be able to delve his adamantium claws into some Sentinel metal/flesh as well.
X-Men: Days of Future Past will see the return of a truck load of past stars from the original trilogy — Singer confirmed that, along with Page, Anna Paquin (Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Ice Man), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Patrick Stewart (Professor Xavier) and Ian McKellen (Magneto) will be teaming with the cast of X-Men: First Class.
