It goes without saying that by merely acknowledging the fact that I remember Alfonso Ribeiro’s unforgettable “Carlton Dance”, gives away my age and many others who enjoyed Will Smith’s smash hit breakthrough TV show, “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”. For those of you not in the know, Will Smith more or less plays himself in the NBC sitcom, while Ribeiro plays his uptight cousin Carlton. Ribeiro’s character is famous for his dance to Tom Jones’ “It’s Not Unusual”, which was later known as the “Carlton Dance”. It turns out that Ribeiro’s dancing lessons and fierce moves on the dance floor secured him the top spot as Dancing With The Stars’ season 19 winner. He had to overcome a pulled groin and a back injury to break out the old dance shoes and win fans over with his classic “Carlton Dance” from the 90’s TV show. Smith also showed his support by asked his 74 million Facebook followers to vote for his good friend.
