Remember those days of curling up in your favorite Star Wars sheets while dreaming of your opportunity to defend the galaxy from all that is dark and evil? Some of us might still be secretly sporting the Star Wars sheets in the hopes that this will bring good fortune and the opportunity of starring in one of the big budget productions over at Disney! Your opportunity has finally come geeks, we reported earlier that Director J.J. Abrams introduced an initiative called “Star Wars: Force for Change” to raise funds and awareness for UNICEF’s Innovation Labs and its programs benefiting children in need. We looked a little closer into this awesome opportunity and what is on offer. Abrams appeared in a video recorded at the movie’s Abu Dhabi set to announce the charity campaign run by Disney, Lucasfilm, and his own production company, Bad Robot.

Abrams said in the video:
“Like a lot of you, I’ve been a ‘Star Wars’ fan since I was a kid, so it’s truly a surreal thing to be working on this movie. I can’t believe it,” “We would like to invite you to be part of the fun here. We want to put you in the movie.”
The helmer wants fans to donate $10 for the chance to appear in “Star Wars: Episode VII”. Everyone who pledges $10 becomes a “founder member” of the Force for Change campaign. All of these members are to be entered into a pool, from which the grand prize winner will be selected. More entries equals a higher chance of selection, and higher-spending contributors will receive more valuable rewards for their generosity. Five winners will be flown to London and shoot his or her scene at Pinewoods Studios. Beside on-screen appearance, the lucky fans will go behind the scenes of the movie’s set, meet the cast and get a transformation into a character of the film by the makeup and costume teams. The contest has officially begun and will end on July 18 midnight.

Star Wars fans can expect “Episode 7″ to be set 30 years after 1983’s “Return of the Jedi”. The seventh installment will be released on December 18, 2015. Two sequels are set with the first one to follow in 2017, and the second in 2019.
