The ‘Fantastic Four’ Reboot has seen its fair share of backlash since the announcement that Michael B. Jordan has been cast as Johnny Storm a.k.a The Human Torch. I expect blogs to flame up with comments from fans with disapproval for the fairly unknown actors identified to take on the coveted role as Doctor Doom in the anticipated reboot. The Wrap reports that Sam Riley, Eddie Redmayne, Toby Kebbell and Domhnall Gleeson are the hot favorites to portray the villainous character. “Boardwalk Empire” actor Jack Huston was also rumored to be in the mix of actors to be selected for the role, however it’s unclear if he still being considered.

Based on the comic “The Ultimate Fantastic Four,” the contemporary update will focus on the characters as young men and women. The film will follow the foursome who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” scribe Simon Kinberg is hired to pen script. Jordan will co-star with Miles Teller who is in talks to portray Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic. Kate Mara is tapped to play his on-screen sister Sue Storm a.k.a The Invincible Woman and Jamie Bell will play Ben Grimm a.k.a The Thing.

The Josh Trank directed ‘Fantastic Four’ flick is set to be released on June 19, 2015.
