Rumor has it that Production Weekly revealed the official title for the upcoming “Terminator 5”. The futuristic robot apocalypse film will be called “Terminator: Genesis”.

“Terminator 5” is rumored to be the first installment of a new trilogy
The cast for the fifth installment has not been finalized and many rumors are still circling big names. Tom Hard is apparently at the top of Taylor’s wish list however they have not entered talks with the “The Dark Knight Rises” star. If successful, Hardy will take on the role as John Connor, joined by Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as the T-800 robot bodyguard. Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”), Brie Larson (“21 Jump Street”) and Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street”) are also eyed by Taylor to portray John’s mother Sarah Connor. Garrett Hedlund, Taylor Kitsch and Nicholas Hoult are also contending to portay Kyle Reese.
The film will be helmed by “Thor: The Dark World” director Alan Taylor, with a script penned by “Shutter Island” screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis and “Dracula 2000” writer Patrick Lussier. ‘Terminator 5’ will kick off production early next year for a release date set July 1, 2015.
