You have to feel a bit for Ron Perlman. He’s  been passionately trying to push for a third Hellboy movie since 2014. After much debate, twitter support and updates it eventually fell flat with the actor reporting that “Hellboy 3 Sorry to report: Spoke w all parties. Must report that 100% the sequel will not happen. And that is to be the final thing about it.”

It  was not until yesterday when the announcement was made by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola announced that there would be an R-rated reboot of Hellboy with Neil Marshall (The Descent, Game Of Thrones) set to direct and Stranger Things co-star David Harbour set to star as the hero, stepping into the shoes previously filled by Perlman. Ouch!

Perlman was flooded with Tweets from his fan’s including Del Toro expressing their love for the actor, and he was feelin’ it. Here are a couple of his tweets in response to the fans:

It would be interesting to hear how he and Del Toro feel about Hellboy getting a reboot with a new director and actor. I imagine that it’s gotta sting a little bit. They’ll continue to go on and make more great movie and TV projects, though, for fans to enjoy! Hopefully we see them work together again on another film project one day!
