There is no doubt that “Terminator Genisys” is one of the most anticipated movies most geeks have cautiously marked on their calendars to see on July 1. Arnie’s T800 is set to be an aging bot while the storyline takes off more or less where James Cameron’s “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” ended. We have the stamp of approval for the new generation of “Terminator” flicks from the legendary helmer himself in a freshly released featurette.

Following an early screening of “Terminator Genisys”, Cameron praised Taylor’s efforts saying it is “the third film” in the series. In the new film, the director is not involved in any way, saying that he is only “a fanboy” of the movie.

He added:

“If you look at why the films became classics, they had characters that you liked. The new film, which, in my mind, I think of as the third film, we see Arnold take the character even farther,”

Some film critics criticized the new film’s plot for being too complicated, but Cameron insists that the unique plot is set to intrigue fans of the franchise.

He said:

“The idea of taking John Connor and flipping him to the bad guy. It’s pretty cool, because you got a rift against expectation. It’s all about the twist,”

This is really good news geeks! Considering that Cameron distanced himself from the franchise after directing the 1991 masterpiece and now for the first time since then shared some positive comments, I’m sure we are all counting down the days now to see this much talked about film. The featurette also shares lots of juice scenes from the movie which reveals John Connor (Jason Clarke) facing-off against his iconic mother, Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke).  This will be a very interesting twist and exciting plot to see unravel, any thoughts out there geeks?
