Its been a while since we received news regarding the plans for taking “Star Trek 3” into deep space. Roberto Orci, previously nominated to helm the movie, revealed the saucy details about the upcoming third installment via the “Humans from Earth” podcast. Since then Orci gave up the directing duties of the USS Enterprise, due to his commitment to helm Disney’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at the time. Leaving us with the promise of the USS Enterprise travelling to a new world, we patiently waited for more news. In the meantime, GeekShizzle favorite Simon Pegg, who writes the script with Doug Jung, did hint that “Star Trek 3” would take the USS Enterprise into uncharted territory while Justin Lin takes over the helming duties from Orci.

Now, TrekMovie says the third installment of the rebooted “Star Trek” franchise may have gotten a title. According to their scoop, “Star Trek Beyond” has been registered with the Motion Picture Association of America. That sounds like a deep space adventure title now doesn’t it! Lets see if any of this pans out because as with most rumors on the net, this has not been confirmed. The film set to be released on July 8, 2016, will feature returning cast members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, and Zoe Saldana. They are joined by new member Idris Elba who will play a new original “kickass” character.
