Deadline is back with another flaming hot scoop suggesting that Hollywood golden boy Chris Pratt might just get that shot to play Indie in the upcoming “Indiana Jones” flick, but there is apparently more good news! The site previously mentioned that the studio has set its sights on “Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around”. In their latest scoop, Deadline mentions that Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg is interested in taking the place behind camera in “Indiana Jones V“. According to the report, Spielberg is all set to take on the new flick as long as the script turns out well.

We will have to sit tight geeks, so far, there is no script for the movie. Steven Spielberg’s frequent collaborator Janusz Kaminski is also expected to work as cinematographer. Bradley Cooper was rumored to take on the lead role in the past, but he dismissed the casting reports. 71-year-old ‘Indiana Jones’ star Harrison Ford from the original film series mentioned in an interview late last year that it’s ok for him “to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much ass.” We are still waiting to see if he will pass the whip and hat to a new tomb raider. In all honesty, seeing Pratt take on one of the most iconic roles in Hollywood would be a treat, but without him the idea of reviving this franchise should rather be laid to rest.
