The abrupt removal of The Pirate Bay from the internet has not stopped countless Torrent sites from replicating, copying and distributing pirated information. This time round we take a closer look at the Top 20 Most Pirated Movies of 2014 based on numbers from January 1 to December 23, 2014. Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” is 2014’s most pirated movie according to piracy-tracking firm Excipio. The film directed by Martin Scorsese scored 30.035 million downloads by Torrent users. Disney’s wildly popular “Frozen (2013)” trail behind closely with 29.919 million, followed by “RoboCop” with 29.879 million in third place. Variety.com did however note that MGM’s 2014 “RoboCop” reboot has the same name as the original 1987 version, and it’s not clear how many downloads account for the newly released “RoboCop”.
