First Person Shooter Hardcore Movie Trailer

First Person Shooter Hardcore Movie Trailer

We had our first taste of a true first person game /movie in the previous Doom movie way back in 2005. We absolutely loved it! If you really love first-person shooter  games, then Hardcore may be just the thing you’ve been waiting for.

Filmmaker Ilya Naishuller has released this really nifty action scene for his upcoming film, which is shot completely from the main character’s perspective (and with minimal editing cuts from what we can see) just like what you’d find in the latest Call of Duty title. Naishuller has finished filming all his scenes for Hardcore, but needs some extra funds to finish the CGI and sound work – hence this video, designed to help inspire you to donate to the film’s IndieGoGo campaign.

Even the first few seconds stay true to a real FPS where you get a kind-off tutorial from your experienced instructor…

While you run the risk of getting a serious case of motion sickness, I’m sure us gamers will be able to handle it! Naishuller’s choice to shoot from this point of view feels inspired and the right choice for the movie he’s trying to make. Speaking of that, here’s the plot breakdown for Hardcore:

Hardcore is a modern, action sci-fi story about Henry, a newly resurrected cyborg who must save his wife/creator Estelle (Haley Bennet) from the clutches of a psychotic tyrant with telekinetic powers, Akan (Danila Kozlovsky), and his army of mercenaries. Fighting alongside Henry is Jimmy (Sharlto Copley), who is Henry’s only hope to make it through the day. Hardcore takes place over the course of one day, in Moscow, Russia and it’s all shot in the same style as Bad Motherf*cker to be released in cinemas worldwide.
