Marvel premiered four — yes, four — clips from the Netflix exclusive highly anticipated Daredevil series. The clips, taken from various points during the pilot, featured first looks at almost all of the main characters — including Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio).

Mashable gives a detailed breakdown of each clip. Based on the below, it looks amazing!

Clip 1: Karen Page’s apartment

In this scene, Woll’s Karen walks into her dark apartment and sees blood on the floor. This prompts her to fish something from inside of a light fixture and as she does so, a man appears and attacks her. She’s slammed to the ground as he draws his knife. Just then, Daredevil appears — rocking a ninja-like costume — and a major fight ensues. It’s hard to keep track of who is winning as the scene takes place in the shadows.

Eventually, both men end up crashing through a window, falling to the ground below. Toward the end of the panel, more of this scene and fight was shown, as the battle continues once they’re on the street. Except after they fly out the window, the scene flashes back to young Matt talking to his father, who’s arriving home after what appears to be a rough night out. He tells him to study because he doesn’t want his son to end up like him. As his father’s blood drips from his face to the table, the scene returns to the action. By the time it ends — with the bad man strung up to the fire escape by a chain — Karen has appeared on the street and begs the hero to return to her the object the masked man had tried to steal. He declines; he has other plans.

Clip 2: Meet Claire Temple

Here, an injured Matt Murdock is seen — still wearing his costume — on the couch of nurse Claire Temple. He has broken ribs, a stab wound and is hurting. Their exchange is flirtatious and punctuated by light comedy, but overall guarded. He doesn’t want to explain his condition and she doesn’t want to explain what prompted her to help a shady man who ended up in her dumpster. The scene ends with her telling him to rest and that they’ll “figure out the other stuff later.”

Clip 3: Art time with Wilson Fisk

The next scene was decidedly darker than the others in tone. In it, art gallery owner Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) and Wilson Fisk meet for the first time as he looks interested in a particular piece. She asks him what the painting makes him feel.

“It makes me feel alone,” he replies.

In explaining his version of the character later to a crowd that was compelled into near silence, D’Onofrio says “our Fisk is a child and he’s a monster.”

“Every move that he makes and everything he does in our story comes from his foundation and his mortality inside himself and meeting Vanessa, the one thing she does for him so far is brings him out of the shadows,” he says.

Clip 4: Dinner with Nelson and Murdock

This scene is nothing but fun and is our first look at Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. Here, Karen is serving Foggy and Matt a dish she made them as a thanks for helping her out. There’s banter and lightness, which is a contrast to much of the footage shown.
“All you did was tell the truth,” Matt says. “Well, you listened,” Karen says, thanking them.

Excited much?

“I think the thing I loved about Matt Murdoch on the page…is we’re meeting a man who is a lawyer by day who believes in law and justice and in the night is taking the law into his own hands and deciding what justice should be,” Cox says.

Daredevil does not yet have a premiere date, but the entire 13-episode season will be released at once on Netflix in 2015, a method that Cox says he’s fond of. “We get to spend more time on real story,” he says, adding that it’s nice to not have to build in cliffhangers at the end of every episode.

“It’s going to feel like a 13-hour movie,” Cox says. Hell yeah!!
