It’s been close to over three months since we received news that Wentworth Miller has officially joined the cast ensemble of “The Flash” as Captain Cold. We finally get to see the actor as the infamous villain and leader of the rogues who uses miniature stolen cyclotrons to freeze objects. The show’s executive producer Greg Berlanti teased fans saying, “We’ll be seeing his origin and the origin of the Rogues”.  The image was shared via Instagram courtesy of DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. Miller can be seen sporting the famous Captain Cold dark shades and wielding a freeze gun.

For those of you not in the know, here is a description for Captain Cold, courtesy of comicvine.com:

“Leonard Snart is a blue collar criminal who has dubbed himself Captain Cold. He is an honorable villain in the fact that he has a strong moral code that he and his team mates must follow. Captain Cold is the leader of the group of villains known as ‘The Rogues’.”

“The Flash” is also set to reunite Miller with long time co-star Dominic Purcell from hit TV series “Prison Break”. Purcell’s villainous Heat Wave a.k.a Mick Rory, is a member of the Rogues in the DC comic books. Miller is set to make his debut in episode four, while Purcell is set to join in a bit later, but both of them are set to star together in the tenth episode.

“Arrow” co-creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and series scribe Geoff Johns penned the pilot. “Arrow” helmer David Nutter serves as director. Grant Gustin (titular character) is supported by Rick Cosnett, Danielle Panabaker, Candice Patton and Carlos Valdes. John Wesley Shipp, who played Barry Allen on CBS’s The Flash series in the 90s, is set to recur as the title character’s father. The spin-off premiered on Tuesday, October 7 on The CW.
