Marvel is rumored to end the ‘Fantastic Four’ comic book series according to latest reports from reputable sources. The final chapter of the graphic novel titled “The End is Fourever” is expected to be published on June 30, 2015, the same year the “Fantastic Four” film franchise is expected to be rebooted.

The announcement reads:

“Witness the closing act on the First Family of the Marvel Universe! The Invaders meet the Fantastic Four as the hunt for Reed Richards and the missing kids of the Future Foundation continues,” “Meanwhile, the mastermind behind everything unveils his ultimate plan. But how does Franklin Richards factor in? And how does this all lead to…The End?! Collecting Fantastic Four #642-644 and the Triple Sized Final Issue 645!”

The June solicitation for the “Fantastic Four Vol. 4: The End is Fourever” has been posted on the Hachette Book Group’s website.

IGN had the following to say about the possible cancellation:

“The cancellation has not been confirmed by Marvel. Rumors have suggested that a hiatus or cancellation was forthcoming due to Marvel’s dissatisfaction with negotiations over the Fantastic Four film rights which are currently held by 20th Century Fox. Comic Book Resources claims to have heard from several industry insiders under condition of anonymity that Marvel was planning a hiatus for the Fantastic Four.”

“The Fantastic Four” movie reboot will make its way to cinemas on August 7, 2015. The production team has already wrapped up filming with Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as the Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Human Torch, Jamie Bell as the Thing and Toby Kebbell as the villainous Doctor Doom. “Fantastic Four” writer Simon Kinberg said we can expect a ”coming of age story” with a more “realistic tone” compared to the previous releases. There is also a sequel scheduled to be released on July 14, 2017.
