The ‘Deadpool‘ movie is finally moving forward with the official release date announced by Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Comics on Thursday, September 18. The internet lit up like a Christmas tree when some test footage was leaked for a solo “Deadpool” movie back in July. Fox swiftly removed the clip which indicated that something is brewing over at Marvel, and finally it is something to be excited about! The masked hero was apparently voiced by Ryan Reynolds who played the role as the mercenary in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”. The clip showcased the perfect blend of violence, action and comedy for a live action film featuring the mercenary.

The last time we checked in with updates for the “Deadpool” movie, “X-Men” Producer Lauren Shuler Donner said that production is down to two decisions in order to move forward. The studio is still deciding whether to make an R-rated film on a shoestring budget or “push the boundaries of PG-13.” She also mentioned that Deadpool will not be recast, insisting that Ryan Reynolds will portray the titular character. Tim Miller will direct the pic for 20th Century Fox.

Expect Deadpool to brighten your day on February 12, 2016.

For those of you not in the know, here is a good description of Deadpool courtesy of comicvine.com:

“Wade Wilson is a former test subject of the Weapon X program, possessing a regenerative healing factor (like that of Wolverine), as well as an unstable compiling of other “Weapon X” experiments. Deadpool’s powers and personality traits combine to make a wild, mentally unstable, and unpredictable mercenary. Deadpool is a former member of X-Force, a self-professed member of the X-Men and Avengers and has recently joined the Thunderbolts. The “Merc with a Mouth” is infamous for breaking the fourth wall.”
