Series geeks out there following “Game of Thrones” will agree that season 4 was without a doubt one of the most exciting and action filled since the show’s debut. The show received an added boost with the inclusion of Icelandic strongman competitor Hafþór Júlíus “Thor” Björnsson, who took on the role as a merciless sword wielding giant simply known as The Mountain. Hafþór was probably a hammer-wielding god in his previous life as his nickname suggests, even Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson sounds like a name fit for a demigod from Norse mythology. Gaining fans with each episode, The Mountain was featured slaying his opponents with a sword big enough to split a VW hatch in half, Hafþór became an overnight sensation as his character’s infamy grew with each bloody encounter. He is the perfect killing machine in a show about seven noble families who fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. There is nothing mythical about the Icelandic strongman’s unbelievable strength and size.
