Warner Bros. has secured a date for the “Harry Potter” spin-off, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, short on the heels of the announcement that J.K. Rowling’s trilogy will be adapted to big screen. The movie based on a 2001 novel by Rowling was written between the publication of the fourth and fifth “Harry Potter” series. Rowling fans can expect the extension of Potter’s fantastical world to hit theatres on November 18, 2016.

The project will be produced by “Harry Potter” regular David Heyman, and Rowling is hired as the screenwriter. The book is set in New York, 70 years before Potter and the gang started their epic journey. The new trilogy is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension. No director or cast has been announced so far, GS will keep you posted.
