“Avengers: Age of Ultron” producer Kevin Feige revealed in an interview with BadassDigest recently that we might be in for a treat. Captain Marvel a.k.a Ms. Marvel might be heading to the big screen, he said:

“We’ve talked a lot about [Captain Marvel]. I think that would be very cool.”

So, it seems that Black Widow will not be getting her own solo flick after all, or maybe she will? This is rather confusing because Feige explained in an interview that “The notion of exploring that [backstory] even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that”.

In an explosion of a Kree Psyche-Magneton device, Carol Danvers’ genetic structure melded with Captain Marvel’s. Miss Marvel was born!

Feige said they would rather make a movie about a completely new character because Black Widow has seen her fair share of screen time, he explains:

“I like the idea if we’re going to do a [female lead] do a new one. Do a wholly new character, do an origin story,”

“Frankly if we do a Black Widow movie after ‘Age of Ultron,’ when she’s been central in three or four movies I don’t think we’d get the quote unquote credit for it,”

“People would say ‘She’s already a big giant superhero!’ But if we had a great idea, we’d do it.”

Mmmm…..”if we had a great idea, we’d do it”? Does this mean that we are pending a great idea or should we expect a Captain Marvel movie instead? The friendly folks over at BadassDigest also mentioned that their sources told them “we will see an iteration of Captain Marvel onscreen by 2016 – either at the end of Phase Two or the beginning of Phase Three – in another Marvel movie.”
