“Road House” is set for a remake of the 1989 classic film according to a recent report by The Wrap. MGM will tackle the project with Rob Cohen (“The Fast and the Furious”, “XXX”)  attached as the helmer. Matt Dines will produce the pic, based on a script by Michael Stokes (“Crash Bandits”).

The original “Road House” tells the story of a man who takes on a job as a bouncer of a problem ridden Missouri bar and eventually finds himself taking on a corrupt businessman. Fans of the late Patrick Swayze will remember him portraying tough guy Dalton, this was one of his most defining roles in his career. The movie was also supported by Kelly Lynch, Sam Elliott and Ben Gazzara.

Cohen is currently busy with the Jennifer Lopez starrer “The Boy Next Door”, which follows the story of a woman who has an affair with her teenage neighbor.
